As promised in December, the grand prize has been awarded, and the winning entry over delivers! I’m so excited for this!
The text that was revealed is approximately Epicurean, on enjoying life. It’s never before seen ancient text! That’s amazing!
The next prize at the end of this year is now sketched out to be about revealing 90% of all four scrolls that they have scanned, details to be revealed in March. And if that’s successful, they can continue onto the remaining 800 more scrolls. If the 1% estimates are right, almost all of these text will be unknown to us, perhaps not even mentioned in the text we do have.1
This, unfortunately, does not imply that they will all be great works. Hopefully not too many will be of the customer complaint variety. ↑
