Bird Report

By Justin G. on

These are most of the birds I saw this week around the Santa Teresa Hills.

  1. Great Blue Heron, saw it a few times but didn’t get a picture.
  2. White-tailed Kite, I think. It was from a distance and other folks that’s what it was.
  3. California Quail, saw a few clutches of these this week, and maybe last week too.
  4. Mourning Dove
  5. American Crow and Common Raven
  6. Red-shouldered Hawk
  7. Turkey Vulture
  8. Northern Mockingbird, I think
  9. Anna’s Hummingbird
  10. Mallard, there are several pairs and extra males chasing females. We have water in the canal still, and in Canoas creek.
  11. Canada Goose, ok this was in the parking lot at the shopping center near by.
  12. California Gull
  13. Acorn Woodpecker
  14. House Finch, I think.

I’m wondering if these is a RSS or email service that can tell me which (seasonal) birds are around, and what’s been spotted nearby? I promise I’m not turning into a birder.
